Your initial examination appointment will last approximately 30-40 minutes. First, we will review your medical history. Then we perform a thorough examination which consists of a series of measurements and assessments which help us determine the current status of your oral health. We usually will need a set of radiographs to assess the bone and root anatomy. This will then be used to formulate a treatment plan to help restore your mouth to a healthy periodontal condition and help replace any teeth that have been missing.
We will work closely with your general dentist and other dental specialists who will be treating you. A report will be mailed to them for your records in their offices. Many patients ask if a referral is needed to make an appointment. This is not necessary, as Dr. Garrison will work closely with any dental providers you may have. You may want to bring a list of your medications and current insurance information with you to your first visit.
